I went to see Riverdance this weekend with Justin, Holly, Adam, and Colleen. It was a suprise for Colleen just to get out of the house and do something nice for her with all of us together. We started out going to TGIFridays for dinner and then we headed out to Grand Rapids. She had no idea, it was exciting. When we arrived at DeVos Place we had her close her eyes until we got into the building so she still wouldn't have a clue. When she finally opened her eyes, she was so thrilled that she just about cried! She had no idea that we knew she LOVED Riverdance. I was just as excited because of my love for dance and music in general, but knowing how happy that made her made it all worth it! We had balcony seats and it was amazing. You could see all of the cool formations that they did. The show was incredible and the musicians were phenominal! Justin has a new drum hero, Mark Alfred. They were all great and I can't believe that they played as fast and as long as they did. My favorite piece was when the "street" guys were competing with the "trained" guys.

I can't even express how AMAZING these dancers were...unreal! I remember being in dance learning how to tap and how difficult it was for me, and these dancers were doing such intricate moves and things I wouldn't have even dreamed of being able to do!
I thought all in all the whole show was neat because it wasn't just pure dance. They showcased the musicians in some of the Acts and then they sang in parts too! Multi-talented people that is for sure! I just loved it...it just made me want to dance and take classes all over again. These performances are so motivating for me =)
Anyway, we had an incredible time and the guys, who we thought really wouldn't get into it, really enjoyed the whole thing. Just watching the musicians alone would have been and incredible performance, but then to add dancers and singers in the mix...WOW! I highly recommend going if you ever get the chance, well worth it.
